If I Had My Way

05 Oct 2010

Remember that nut job Muslim extremist who tried to kill an untold number of US citizens by trying to detonate his homemade car bomb on a Times Square street in New York on a busy Saturday night? Well, Faisal Shahzad faced his destiny today as he squared off against a US federal judge. The 31 year old Shahzad told his attorney to remain silent because he would answer for himself. As the life sentence was pronounced the would-be killer announced with a grin, “Brace yourselves, because the war with Muslims has just begun. Consider me the first droplet of the blood that will follow.”

The punk former budget analyst from Connecticut–a Pakistani who migrated to America and returned to Pakistan to train for murder–prayed to Allah that his propane-gasoline bomb parked in an SUV would kill as many people as possible. U.S. District Judge Miriam Goldman Cedarbaum asked him why he did it and he replied, “We are only Muslims trying to defend our religion, people, homes and land, but if you call us terrorists, then we are proud terrorists and we will keep on terrorizing you until you leave our lands and people at peace.”

What Muslim nation does America occupy? We have pulled out of Iraq, leaving a skeleton military crew to fend for themselves while continuing to rebuild a nation and are in Afghanistan because 1) We know the terrorist groups, al Qaeda and the Taliban have strongholds there and 2) The elected representatives of that nation have asked us to help. If helping them saves US lives then even this nutty bomber wannabe would have to understand our reasoning. Just a little history reminder, September 11, 2001 was an attack against Americans by Islamic extremists. They fired the first shot.

Last time I checked, no one was trying to stop a single Muslim, here or abroad, from practicing their Faith. What we have done is try to stop crazy people who kill in the name of their religion from doing so but the two ideologies can and should be exclusive of each other. If you want to kill people–kill them. Don’t use your religion to justify their deaths.

Cederbaum was sharp yet calm as she worked through the sentencing process, “You appear to be someone who was capable of education and I do hope you will spend some of the time in prison thinking carefully about whether the Quran wants you to kill lots of people,” Cedarbaum said.

Shahzad shot back, that the “Quran gives us the right to defend. And that’s all I’m doing.”

During the trial that ended in June prosecutors provided a dramatic videotape of a staged explosion conducted by the FBI in a Pennsylvania field to prove how deadly Shahzad’s bomb could have been. They used a 1993 Pathfinder with three-25 pound propane tanks, 250 pounds of ammonium nitrate fertilizer and two-five gallon canisters of gasoline. Once detonated, the bomb ripped the Pathfinder in to pieces, blew up four surrounding cars, wiped out a dozen dummies and sent debris and shrapnel in every direction. In other words, had Shahzad’s bomb been successful–on a street he picked after watching web-cam videos of Times Square for the most frequented–he could have murdered a multitude.

In the middle of one of his I’m-a-cool-sort-of-terrorist  the judge stopped Shahzad when she asked if he swore an allegiance to America when he became a citizen in 2009.

“I did swear, but I did not mean it,” Shahzad said. Remember, in Shahzad’s and other terrorist’s minds, the Koran allows its adherents to make promises, lie, cheat, steal, go to strip clubs, use prostitutes and blow people up. I just wonder if they score less than their planned 72 virgins for such behavior?

In his final words, the man who can never be paroled from federal prison according to federal law (Unless our bleeding cry-baby activist liberals say otherwise.) said, “If I’m given 1,000 lives, I will sacrifice them all.” And, “I’m happy with the deal that God has given me.”

Well, Mr. Shahzad, you will have a little more than a half million minutes per year, every year for the rest of your life to think about the fact that you are in a maximum security prison with about an hour of private yard time. Let’s assume this would-be-somebody-infamous-idiot lives to be 72. If you live this long Mr. Shahzad you will have at least 21,549,600 minutes to realize, consider and re-consider that you were an absolute and abysmal failure.

But, if I had my way, even the failed terrorists of this world should be no more. Why let them count even a single minute–on my dime while furthering the cause of death and destruction?

I’m going to have to agree with you and say this: war is war, these terrorist organizations have waged war against us, and we need to wipe them out. They can’t be reasoned with. I HATE saying that, but they make this very, very clear and are proud of it. I sincerely hope Shahzad is put in with the rest of the animals to get what he truly deserves.. don’t really want to be paying taxes to keep this waste of space alive, even in prison. I really hope they DON’T put him in under any kind of protection, he doesn’t deserve it.
What I don’t understand is how these extremists arrive at their logic that they’re defending anything at all.. we’re not even IN Pakistan?? Although I could make an argument that we should be. Anywhere in fact, we find terrorists are being trained and hiding out, we should go in and handle business. If the “host” company doesn’t like it.. sorry, you should have handled it yourself.
